Alongside his own work as the Artistic Director of MARABULA Hansel Nezza has been working among others with Constanza Macras/Dorky Park from 2009 and as assistant choreographer in 'Der Tod in Venedig' by Thomas Ostermeier/Schaubühne Berlin.
Some of his last creations are: Inter.FEAR, supported by the Goethe Institut was selected and premiered in the Main Programm of the National Arts Festival in South Africa; Crow's Nest, selected for the Random Collision's Trilogy Project and premiered at KORZO; Cámara Oscura, selected in the IDN Festival and premiered at Mercat de les Flors.
Hansel Nezza has led workshops in Spain, Germany, The Netherlands, South Africa and Mozambique.
Performer, musician, theater director and pedagog, from 2009 she is the Artistic director of Lapocafarina Produccions, company with program of social theatre. Barcelona 1983. Works with the Alias Compagnie, Johannes Wieland at the Staatstheater Kassel. Joins Pina Bausch at Tanztheater Wuppertal, where she works as a guest dancer. Works with Wim Wenders in the 3D- film PINA. In 2010 joins the company DCA-Philippe Decouflé. Her first solo: Cuando los poetas desaparecen wins the Laburract '05 at the Act Festival Bilbao. Creates En mi habitación propia, in 2006, Like a dog on a chain and her new solo Last Picture. •
Licensed in Fine Arts. Studies Performing arts at Jaques Lecoq International School, Paris. Scenography at Institut del teatre Barcelona. Always understood the stage as a multidisciplinary pillar. In 2000 joins cia. Amaranto as set designer and creative performer. In 2007 creates the video Máscara for Sobreanatural by La Porta. In 2009 presents Persona in Hangar, Barcelona. An scenic investigation project centered in combining virtual and present audience through internet. With the projects Cámara Oscura and Cenital sites again in the research of new dramaturgies relating image, stage, and interactivity. •

MARÁBULA barcelona • berlin started its career as the collective of performing artists ARTERIA in Barcelona 2006, in the space of creation Taller22, founded by Agnes Forn and Hansel Nezza.
MARÁBULA's work spans from theatrical adaptations, own pieces, artistic collaborations, installations, and performances. Takes special attention to the process of research and development, complicity, and multidisciplinary exchange. A creation of risk, supported by a new dramaturgy, that reflects the social situation around us and the little worlds that coexist, survive, collide. The exchange with national and international artists, from different disciplines and various artistic and aesthetic backgrounds. A participatory and inclusive artistic language, a new approach to personal relationships, the relation with the environment, and the playful and expressive spirit of the creative act.
Currently working on various projects and offering regular open trainings in the company and workshops abroad ••South African choreographer, performer and educator. Studied at Rhodes University, South Africa, specializing in Choreography, Physical Theatre & Mime, she also holds a Masters Degree in Drama from the University of the Witwatersrand. She has performed with a range of independent choreographers and leading South African companies such as The First Physical Theatre Company and the Forgotten Angle Theatre Collective. For her performance work she has been awarded a Gauteng MEC Award for most outstanding female dancer and a Kanna Award for most prestigious achievement in Dance Theatre. In her most recent work as a choreographer, such as Coming To, the interactive installation elev(i)ate and the stage-work elev(i)ate2. Athena has been exploring the relationship between body and live digital arts interfaces, whilst investigating the connection between memory and the body. Her creation elev(i)ate2 won a Silver 2010 Standard Bank Ovation Award in the Physical Theatre category of the National Arts Festival in S. Africa. Athena has recently worked as the assistant director for Constanza Macras' The Offside Rules which toured in Germany and South Africa. •
